Talk

What can we learn from the Basque Country about creating an economy based on solidarity, care and collective action? This talk introduces OlatuKoop, a network of cooperatives and social initiatives working towards a transformative social economy grounded in antiracism, sustainability and feminism.

We’ll explore the five cooperative waves that have shaped the Basque experience - from Mondragón’s industrial roots to today’s ecofeminist cooperativism - and hear about Olatukoop’s cooperative social entrepreneurship school KoopFabrika that has inspired Kooperativt København to start our very own cooperative school.
Join the session if you want to know more about the cooperative movement outside of Denmark.

You can meet four members of OlatuKoop:
Leire Udabe from Lakari koop, Ekintzakoop and Olatukoop
Aitor Ossa from Goiener and Olatukoop
Beñat Irasuegi from Talaios koop, Ekintzakoop and Olatukoop
Ainara Mugeta from Olatukoop

About: Olatukoop is a Basque network of more than 60 cooperatives, associations and community organisations working for a social transformative economy. For ten years they have offered cooperative training through their educational programme KoopFabrika in which feminism and antiracism are an integral part.

Accessibility: The session will be held in English
